Best pizza around!! bBQ chicken pizza AMAZING!!! I have never ordered anything from here that I didn't like !! Nachos are awesome but if you eat them there fresh! Service is always great also!!
Max pizza has been around since the 70's and has 4 locations in Bristol CT. That alone is enough of a reason to give them a try. I only ordered take away from Max's and bought pizza and grinders. The food is fantastic. I have and will be going there again.
I stopped here for a quick slice of pizza and I was pleasantly surprised. Do you remember how Pizza Hut had the crispy skin on the bottom w a thick crust? This one was just like that. It was quite good and hit the spot. Extra points for the pac man table arcade machine that you can play while waiting for your slice to warm up!
Cobb Salad is amazing. Theyre so generous with toppings. Whole strips of bacon, big portions of well cooked seasoned chicken, veg is always fresh. A little to much mozzarella for my liking but for most people the more cheese the better What really makes it stand out is the creamy garlic Italian. Im from out of state but visit often & buy bottle every time. Pizza is also excellent. BLT pizza sounded super weird but is actually really good. Steak & cheese calzone wasnt too good tho but not bad either
We get takeout pizza there on a weeknight . I like the flavor of the crust . The counter staff are always friendly .
I spent a good portion of my young years in Connecticut and the one thing I truly miss is the pizza and calzones that come from this weird area of central Connecticut (Yeah, I'm not talking about New Haven style, I want this greasy mildly thick stuff). My plane landed at around 5:30AM on Saturday and I made sure that six hours later I was on my way to Max's Pizza to pick up a calzone and a cheese pizza to go in on (didn't eat both for lunch, but needed both in the house). My calzone was stuffed with mozzarella cheese, sausage, and meatball and my small pizza was simply cheese. The calzone was everything I could of hoped for, the dough was soft but also a little crispy at the same time. The sausage and meatball inside was delicious and cooked to perfection. The mozzarella cheese was ooey and gooey and what else can a man truly want out of calzone cheese? And finally, that red sauce was packing a flavourful punch that had me cleaning my plate when I was done. I won't lie, I did tear into at least one fresh piece of the cheese pizza and I absolutely loved it. Overall, Max's Pizza might just be my favourite pizza place, period. I've eaten pizza pretty much everywhere from New Haven, Chicago, and Las Vegas to Rome, Sicily, and Toronto and there's something about this central Connecticut stuff that is my ultimate weakness. I'll be back in Connecticut later this year and let me tell you this, I'll be back at Max's when I am!
Glad to see Max Pizza grow thru the years just as the residents in Bristol has grown with them. Seeing it expand into the former jewelry store next door to include dining area and a back porch too. We grabbed a clam casino pizza, veggie lovers and Hawaiian for the group of us. The pizza were cut into squares which is always a nice way to share a pie. Full of flavor and toppings you'll always get a nice bite of everything on the slice/square with the hot bite burning the roof of your mouth if you aren't too careful. All in all Max pizza has been a local favorite that isn't going away anytime soon. They have a monopoly with their giant cardboard coupons for free pizzas eventually but they know you'll be back.
